यह क्या है?

PM Surya Ghar pays a direct capital subsidy to households that install grid-connected rooftop solar on their own premises. The subsidy is tiered: generous for the first two kilowatts, lower for the third, and nothing beyond three kilowatts, which steers the scheme towards ordinary domestic rooftops rather than large installations.

The whole process runs through a single national portal. You apply against your electricity connection number, choose a registered vendor, and the local distribution company inspects the system and installs a net meter before the subsidy is released into your bank account.

Only residential connections qualify. Commercial, industrial and government consumers are excluded, though housing societies and residents' welfare associations can claim at the lower rate for shared facilities. Panels must be made in India from Indian-made cells.

₹30,000 – ₹78,000 one-time

Rs 30,000 per kW for the first 2 kW and Rs 18,000 per kW for a third kW, so a maximum of Rs 78,000 for a household. Special category states receive Rs 33,000 and Rs 19,800 per kW respectively. Potential benefit subject to official approval and to inspection by your electricity distribution company.

सरकार द्वारा बताई गई अन्य शर्तें

  • You must have a residential electricity connection and install the system on a roof, terrace, balcony or elevated structure.
  • Commercial, industrial and government consumers receive no subsidy under this scheme.
  • Solar panels must be domestically manufactured from domestically manufactured cells.
  • The subsidy can be claimed only once per installation. A system moved to a new location does not qualify again.
  • If you have already taken a rooftop solar subsidy from the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, you can claim only for the balance capacity up to 3 kW.

आवेदन कैसे करें

Register on the national portal using your electricity consumer account number and the portal issues an application ID. After feasibility approval you choose a registered vendor to install the system. Your distribution company then inspects the installation, signs the net metering agreement and installs the meter. The subsidy is released to your bank account once the distribution company has verified the system.
