Schemes aimed at farming families rather than at agriculture as an
industry: income support, pensions, insurance and credit.
Most exclude institutional landholders, serving and retired government
employees above the lowest grades, income tax payers, and practising
professionals such as doctors and lawyers. The benefit is normally per
family, not per person, where a family means husband, wife and minor
children.
