A subsidy reduces what you pay rather than handing you money, and it is usually released after the thing has been bought, built or installed and inspected. Plan for paying the full amount first.
Most subsidies have a cap, a per-household limit, and a window. Several are also first-come, first-served against a fixed national budget, so a scheme that is technically open may have no money left.

Bank loan plus a government subsidy of 15 to 35 per cent to help you set up a new micro enterprise.

Free or half-cost assistive devices for persons with at least 40 per cent disability whose monthly income is up to Rs 30,000. Cochlear implants for children are also covered.

Free soil testing for farmers. The card reports 12 soil parameters for a farmer's land and recommends how much fertiliser to apply, so money is not wasted on the wrong inputs.
